There's something oddly relaxing about filling out a keno ticket at the counter while waiting on a schooner, probably because you know exactly what you're in for before you hand it over. Keno being the national game of Australia, every pub terminal runs the same draw rhythm, so the variance doesn't change whether I'm at my local or across town. How many numbers do you usually mark on a quick one between drinks? I tend to keep mine low, depends on the volatility you're chasing 📊

Love a counter ticket between drinks myself. The trick is deciding your bet per game before you get to the terminal, otherwise you're topping up every draw and the arvo gets expensive fast. Yesterday I set a flat A$5 a ticket, watched the screens from the bar stool, hit bugger all and walked, and that's the whole discipline of it. You know exactly what you're handing over before the first ball drops, which is more than I can say for some of my pokie sessions 😭🎰

Cleaned the last ticket off on a four-spot at the local once and cashed the slip straight away instead of chasing the next draw, that discipline wins more arvos than any lucky number does.
