You're not being dumb at all, mate, it just means the club picks a return setting for each machine within the state rules, so one Big Red can run stingier than its twin two metres away. Problem is you can't tell by looking; the roo wilds are coy whatever the setting, I've had arvos where the free games never landed and A$50 went quiet. Only way to learn a machine is to give it a slap and take notes over time. Ah well, we grind on π

Big Red's all-time favourite status for me comes from one Friday at the club when the free games hit with a wild multiplier stacked in there and the whole session turned on its head.
