Wheres the Gold is a different beast at every pub I walk into

Grinder_Hunter's onto something. Turned 50 into a fair wack on Wheres the Gold at my club once, then three dead sessions after. Config sets the floor, variance does the rest. Ah well, we grind on.

So if the club can just set it tighter, how do you know which pub's running it loose before you drop your cash in? Maybe I'm being dumb but I just chase the free games wherever I am and hope the variance gods are kind 😅 cheers for explaining it though, that helps 🙏

MaxBet, nobody can tell you which pub runs it looser, the venues aren't publishing figures, so anyone claiming their local is "the loose one" is guessing. Only thing you can actually check is your own results over a few sessions; if a machine never shows the feature and eats A$50 without a whisper, treat it as tight and move on. The variance argument's fair, but I don't buy it as cover for weeks of dead play, that smells like a gimped setting to me.

FreoDad, I'd back you on that. My local has had the same Wheres the Gold sitting cold since before Christmas. Same machine, same dead feel every slap, while the one across town at least pays the feature now and then. Nobody can prove either way because no venue publishes its figure, so I just assume the worst and budget for a dead machine everywhere I go.

Funny how everyone's got a cold one and a loose one and nobody has a receipt. The venue sets the RTP somewhere above the state floor, they don't stick a sign on the glass telling you where, so "cold for weeks" could be config, could be a brutal variance streak, you can't separate the two by feel alone. That's exactly why pubs love machines like this. ChrisSpins, "feels rigged" is doing a lot of work in that sentence. If your club genuinely runs it tighter than the pub across town, that's legal and quiet, no rigging needed. I'd take one cashout screenshot from the loose pub before anointing it the good machine. Believe it when you cash out.

Servo reckon you're overthinking it mate 😅 every Friday arvo at my club I'm on the Wheres the Gold near the bar and it goes alright, but walk into the one other side of town and the free games just never trigger, EVER. Same Aristocrat cabinet, same mining theme, night and day difference. If it was just variance you'd expect a cold machine to throw you a feature eventually but this thing's been a brick for months 💀 VegasDiva said it, venues can set that RTP wherever they like above the floor, so why wouldn't some tight pub run it hard? My club wants you coming back for a slap every week, the other joint clearly doesn't care. Case closed for me 🤑🎰

I've had the same experience, hit the Free Games twice in one session on the club's Wheres the Gold and banked a tidy payout, then had a slap on the one at the pub near work and it ate my session without a single Scatter showing. Config or brutal cold streak, hard to prove either way, but my rule stays the same: dead machine, cut losses and move on, cashing out in time is everything. 🎰💸

A$50 gone in what felt like ten spins, never saw a scatter. Could be variance, could be anything, but I don't argue with the results, just don't feed the vampire anymore 😭🎰

@Gramps_AllDay that cashing out straight after the feature is the whole game mate, most punters give it back within five spins 😭 I run 2 a spin on the club one and if the feature hits I'm at the cashier before the machine cools down. The pub near mine? Same A$50 vanish trick, reckon it wouldn't have hit a scatter in a hundred spins 🔥🎰
